A word about our format . . .
We call our format “local” because that best describes what
we do. Brownsville Radio, as WTBG- FM is best known, has enjoyed
decades of local listenership simply because our programming
focuses on the daily informational needs of the Haywood County
audience. It has been very successful.
Mornings rely on a news/talk format. All of the programming is
locally produced and includes in-depth local news coverage.
Other features from the obituary report to open-lines talk, ABC
News and Paul Harvey, are carefully blended for Haywood
Countians.
The station’s two daily (one in the morning and one in the
afternoon) radio classified programs, “Swap-Shop,” take hundreds
of calls every day.
At night, Ivory Ellison’s gospel programming captivates the
adult African-American audience.
Our FM programming has stood the test of time. For more than 25
years, our personalities and programming have been virtually
unchanged - because it works for listeners and advertisers.
